Bantock Park (nearby)

A district park of about 16 hectares, left to the council in 1938 by Alderman Albert Bantock. The east side has restored formal gardens and the west side has open space, hedgerows and woodland trails. There is a children's play area, a tea room and Bantock House Museum. It is just north of Penn in Finchfield/Merridale.

Penn Common

A large area of open countryside between Penn, Wolverhampton and Sedgley, mostly within South Staffordshire. It includes farmland and Penn Golf Club's heathland course, and St Bartholomew's Church looks over it. In the 19th century it was a popular spot for days out, with horse races and tea cottages. It is good for walks, and a plotted circular route of about 10 km crosses it.

Smestow Valley Local Nature Reserve (nearby)

Wolverhampton's largest green space and its first designated nature reserve. It covers 51 hectares and runs 4.5 km from Aldersley to Wightwick along the Smestow Brook and the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal. The paths are mostly flat and good for walking, running and cycling. Parking is free.

South Staffordshire Railway Walk

A traffic-free path for walkers, runners and cyclists along the old Wombourne branch line of the Great Western Railway. Passenger trains ran only from 1925 to 1932, and one of the stops was Penn Halt. The walk opened in 1974 and runs from Castlecroft to Wombourne, and it links north to the Smestow Valley reserve.

Anglo-Saxon cross base, St Bartholomew's churchyard

The base and stem of an Anglo-Saxon churchyard cross, often called the Lady Godiva Cross. Together with the round shape of the churchyard, it shows there was a church here before the Normans arrived.

Penn Hall

A Grade II* listed 17th-century house refronted in early Georgian style, with rainwater heads dated 1787. Thomas Bradney JP completed it to a design first intended for a hospital. Later it housed ironmasters, the Gibbons lock-making family and trainee police. It has been Penn Hall special school since 1974. It is a working school, not open to visitors.

Penn United Reformed Church

A United Reformed Church congregation on Penn Road, part of the Wolverhampton & Smestow Brook Pastorate. Sunday service is at 11am. It runs a junior church, a community café, a food bank and activities for older people.

Springdale Methodist Church and Community Centre

A Methodist church and community centre founded in 1953 on land bought from Holts Brewery. It serves Warstones and Penn and is now part of 'Crossways at Springdale'. It has a car park off Wynchcombe Avenue, step-free access and a hearing loop.

St Bartholomew's Church

Penn's ancient parish church and a Grade II* listed building. There was a church here before the Norman Conquest. Sir Hugh de Bushbury rebuilt it around 1200, and the oldest surviving work is the 14th-century north arcade. Inside are a 15th-century font and an 1802 memorial by John Flaxman. It is an active Church of England parish, united with St Anne's, Lower Penn.

St Michael's Catholic Church

A circular Roman Catholic church built in 1967–68 to designs by Desmond Williams & Associates. It was one of the first churches planned around the worship reforms of the Second Vatican Council, and it has abstract stained glass by Bronwen Gordon. It was listed Grade II in 2016. The parish dates from 1923.

Penn Library

The City of Wolverhampton Council's library for Penn. It survived earlier closure plans and was reopened after a £60,000 refurbishment. Ward councillors hold surgeries here.

Victory Hall (Lower Penn Village Hall)

The village hall for neighbouring Lower Penn. It is a registered charity, with Lower Penn Parish Council as trustee, and can be hired for events.

Penn Golf Club

An 18-hole heathland course (par 70, 6,453 yards) on Penn Common, with views to the Clee Hills. Golf has been played on the common since 1893, and Penn Golf Club was formed in 1908, when it bought the land from the Duke of Sutherland.

The Barley Mow

A historic pub on Penn Common. The first committee of the golf club met here in 1892, and its landlord became the club's first steward.
