The city's local history and civic society, formed in 2020 by merging the Literary and Scientific Society with the Wolverhampton Civic and Historical Society (founded 1960). It promotes local heritage, civic pride, science and literature through a programme of talks. It is based in Penn; no separate 'Penn Local History Society' was found.

A church on the corner of Lea Road and Claremont Road since 1905. Its lottery-funded Together in Penn Fields project, started in 2021, runs youth clubs, parent and toddler groups, adult education and groups for refugees and migrants, as well as a community food project.

Penn's ancient parish church. As well as services, it runs choirs, a worship band, bellringing, a Monday coffee morning, the Mothers' Union, Painting in Penn, Bart's Butterflies, Junior Church, and Alpha and Living Faith courses. At the time of research the parish was between vicars (in interregnum).
